‘The editor has encountered an unexpected error,’ problem with Guttenberg
-
I was having fun exploring in what I could do using Guttenberg a few days ago, but only until I got this error after. I really thought this is only some kind of bug/problem that will be fixed soon, but it hasn’t fixed (yet) until now. I don’t know what the problem since I’m not really knowing much about WebOS. But in case the developers don’t know about this yet, here I’ll tell you..,..
Anyway, here’s the error report: …
TypeError: Cannot read property ‘raw’ of undefined

And as far as I know, Guttenberg is a plugin. Anyhow, kindly help me with this! Thank you very much!

Hi there,
Can you please tell us exactly what you did that led to this error? i.e. what page you started on, what you clicked, every step you followed.
To find the cause we need to be able to replicate the error on our end, and for that we need to know what sequence of events causes it to happen.
Also please confirm what browser, including the browser version, you’re using. You can find that info here:
-
First of all, I use the classic /wp-admin to access everything, in case this wasn’t clear.
The problem happens every time I try to create a new post and new page using the Guttenberg editor and not the classic editor, but also every time I try to edit the already edited and published both post and page, using the Guttenberg editor. The issue never appeared when I create/edit using classic editor.
I use both Chrome and Opera browser; both are the newest version. I tried also to disable and even uninstal all the browser extensions hoping that it maybe just a browser complication; but no, the problem is still occurred.

Please try the following:
Open your browser’s dev tools – with WP-Admin open, right-click and select Inspect.
When the tools open, click on Console. There should be a > prompt where you can type stuff. Insert
localStorage.clear();and press Enter. Then try accessing the editor again. -
-
But for the first visit, there is no error occurred, I hope there isn’t any for further experience too. Thank you for the fast response!
-
We’re still looking into what’s causing this, but if it happens again, just use that command in the console again to clear local storage in your browser and you should have access again.
The
undefinedresponse is normal :) -
-
This should be fixed now, though you might have to clear your browser cache for it to take effect.
Please let us know if you still notice any issues, and thanks for reporting this!
