The Email Address Associated With My WordPress Account No Longer Exists?

    I am having a series of issues regarding my website. First of all, the email address I originally set up my WordPress account with no longer exists since Outlook merged with Hotmail – I contacted Microsoft and they were unable to help.

    I have a Gmail account that I primarily use which I would like to make my main email address but am unable to do so as the ‘current’ email address can only authorize this change – and, because the account has been deleted, I am unable to open the inbox and do so.

    This is URGENT as I have paid for a new hosting company, Blue Host, so that I may install plugins and further my knowledge in websites.

    The email address associated with my WordPress account is: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
    But this does not exist.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Do you remember the login information for your original account (with the deleted email address)? If so, you should be able to login and change the email address on the account to your new address here:

    https://wordpress.com/settings/account/

    Can you give that a try? The confirmation email for the change will be sent to the new address.

    Yes thank you, it finally let me do it! I had tried to do it for a while and the option had not come up, it was sending confirmation emails to my old email address (of which I couldn’t access) but it is now working properly. Thanks for you help…

    Secondly, I want to transfer my website from WordPress to Blue Host (I want to use WordPress.org so that I can install Plugins and customise the HTML etc) – how do I do this? It currently says my website domain is under Wild West Domains, I rang them and they said I will have to get the EPP Authorization Code from WordPress?

    To move from WordPress.com to Bluehost, we have a few handy instructions here:

    That should help you to move your content. As far as the domain, you will need an EPP code. We have a guide here that explains the process including how to obtain that code:

    Can you give those steps a try?
