The front page of the Motif template is not like demo web

  The front page of the Motif template is not like demo website, I want my front page to be exactly like Motif:
  1. A big picture and a block with space to write words on it
  2. Some more blank blocks under the big picture.
  3. I don’t want “search”, “Archives”, “Meta” to show on my home page.

  I want my home page to be exactly like Motif, how to do that please?

  Hi there,

  You’re right, there is a bit of configuring which has to be done to get your site looking the same.

  The good news is that there is a theme information page for each theme that we offer. You can find Motif’s right here: https://wordpress.com/themes/motif/

  Additionally there are instructions on how to get the front page showing!

  Hi, thank you for the reply, I will try it. However, I truly wish WordPress could be improved and has a better service, therefore I would recommend the wordpress to make a finished Home page of Motif (and other templates as well) for the new users. It would make it super fast to build the same web of Motif, which will give a great help to the users whi knows nothing about how to modify the templates.

  Hiya,

  I fully understand what you’re saying and we are working on a tool which will allow you to import the appearance of the demo site for your theme in to a new blog so that it looks just like you expect it to right out of the box. We don’t have it ready quite yet so I can’t give you an ETA for when it will be available, but we do have something in the works!

  Hi, I am using the motif theme for my site. I have upgraded to premium but there are still a few things that I cannot change.

  First, on my portfolio page it says archives at the top and I don’t want it to say that and I can’t change it. Any ideas on how to remove it?

  Second, I started this as a blog several months ago but now I am trying to turn it into a website, is there anyway to take the main home page with all of my old posts and change to a blog and then start a new home page, without losing all of my old posts?
