The Gallery Puts in Images I didn't Add or the Other Way Around

Whenever I put images into a post it appears but if I delete one it still shows in the gallery. Or if I even click on an image I don’t want by accident, it’s still displayed. But I also had this one post where I had ten images and none of them got on the gallery mode. Thanks!

Whenever I put images into a post it appears but if I delete one it still shows in the gallery. Or if I even click on an image I don’t want by accident, it’s still displayed.
You may not be completing the deletion process. After clicking on the “Delete Permanently” link for a selected image in an Edit Gallery page, the deletion does not occur until you don’t click on the Update gallery button. You’ll have to update the page as well in order to see the effect of the deletion.
But I also had this one post where I had ten images and none of them got on the gallery mode.
Could you try to explain more clearly what happened in this case?

Thank you so much! I tried permanently deleting the pictures and it got rid of them (excuse my middle school level brain). And for the last one, I have this post on my blog called Lovely Cover Awards and I can’t recall everything I did because I went completely crazy trying to fix the first problem which was the images in the gallery that I didn’t permanently delete and so I kept re-inserting the images over the post and on new ones, also control+pasting the entire post also but even when I set the post format on gallery, no images appear at all and there isn’t a gallery slide either, only a title to click on. All the images used though haven’t been permanently deleted either.

The Adding a Gallery or Slideshow section of the Galleries and Slideshows support page provides the steps to follow for creating and inserting a gallery in a post or page. See also the Editing a Gallery or Slideshow section.

Inserting images “over” (into the editor of?) a post can not result in the insertion of a gallery.
control+pasting the entire post
Not sure what you mean here, but it certainly won’t help in creating or displaying a gallery.

The post format has nothing to do with displaying a gallery.

From the Post Formats support page:
You can put any kind of content you’d normally publish in a post in any of the post formats, but they were designed with particular kinds of content in mind…
Choosing the gallery format doesn’t insert a gallery, it is just a special format that might be useful if you intend to only include a gallery in the post.
