The grey follow button that’s supposed to show up at the bottom right of my blog doesn’t show up, just the 3 dots
-
My blog is https://ronniemuphotography.wordpress.com/
How do I add that grey follow button that pops up on the bottom right? I’m not talking about the widget. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
In the topic Follow button missing?, staff member @kokkieh says:
The follow option in the action bar is automatically hidden on sites that don’t have any posts published. This is so that more traditional websites using only pages don’t show a follow button that doesn’t do anything.
The moment you start publishing more public posts on your site that option will activate automatically.
This answer is relevant in your case since the site https://ronniemuphotography.wordpress.com/ has no published posts yet.

I already have a post on my blog and I’m doing this for a class. Everyone in my class has that follow button except for me and my teacher says I need to have it.
-
The account was created five days ago. Here’s the site’s 2018, and September 2018 post archives pages. There are no published posts.
-
There may be a draft post, but none are published. See the Publish a New Post section of the Post support page.
-
Do you see my mission statement post? My other classmates can see it and this is the only post we are supposed to have right now. They all have the follow button besides me.

I’m sorry, I’ve found it now. I was unfamiliar with this theme. On my monitor the title of the post is hidden until you run the cursor over the post’s featured image. So the post “Mission Statement” is found on the Blog page, and as a single post is here: https://ronniemuphotography.wordpress.com/2018/09/17/mission-statement/

I don’t know why your action bar follow button is hidden. Perhaps it requires two published posts. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention. Staff will respond here.
-
Okay thank you, I don’t think it’s due to me having one post though because everyone else in my class has the button even though they only have a mission statement.
-
Yeah, it seems odd. Are others using the same theme, Pictorico? While waiting for staff to respond a workaround you might consider would be to add a Follow Blog Widget and/or a Follow Button widget to a footer widget area.

Hi there,
This is because you have your site set to a static front page. If you have a static front page, you need at least two published posts before the follow button will appear in the action bar.
If the front page is set to display latest posts, the follow button will show even if you have only one published post.
