Can I add the title attribute to blockquote tags?

  I’d like a tooltip to pop up when the user mouses over a blockquote. Unfortunately, the title element is removed when I update. As a workaround, I’ve wrapped a span tag inside the blockquote, but it doesn’t feel like a good use of HTML. The title element isn’t removed from span.

  Would it be possible to allow the title element in the blockquote tag (or indeed in all suitable tags) please?

  I agree that it seems a shame to strip it out.

  I’ve passed on this suggestion to our developers in the form of a trac ticket, I’m afraid I can’t give you any guarantees, but I will let you know what’s happening.
