The insert vid button has gone and now I cant insert a YouTube vid.
-
I dont want to do this anymore, but for some reason WP have got rid of the insert vid button, it was there a couple of hours ago and everything was happy, but now it is with sadness that I find an insert media button, I gave it a try and what did I get when I hit the insert button followed by publish?
I got a nice text version of the vid link, and yes I did insert the vid on its own line, I am not a computer geek who drools over code and could not care less about the stuff either, I just want a little button that was there a couple of hours ago, cant see that I am doing anything wrong, heeeellllpppppp?

Make sure that you follow this guide to embed a YouTube video. Don’t use the video button for that.
-
Also, if you’re wondering where the Add Video button went, see this: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/drag-drop-media-uploader-flyout-menus/

Loved this bit,
“To quickly embed a YouTube video, simply copy the video’s URL from your web browser’s address bar while viewing the video:”
lol it did not work.
-
Ok so no reply from you happy guys just yet, so I shall explain a bit more eh, as you see from my last comment your simple way of copy and paste did not work for me either, and your new all media button was where it all went wrong for me in the first place, I gave it a try, it looked simple enough and was simple enough, just didnt bloody work, and I do know that there is that possibility that its me just being a fuckwhit, if it is the case that I am a complete tard a little help would be wonderfull.
Thanks!!

Hellooooow hellooooow hellooooowwwwww, nope nothing? perhaps your all doing happy stuffs.

Look I know its Friday and your all wanting to get on with your social lives (gaming lol), but I still cant get the vid to display in my posts, head on over there and see how many times I have tried, but now it looks like your ignoring me, in this day and age where the internet spans oceans in miliseconds I am finding my-self ignored and waiting almost 24hrs!! its almost athe speed of a letter, I have been polite and I have been understanding, I dont want to complain dont force negativity upon me, I only ask your help.
-
It looks like you have it working properly in your latest post.
As for your “The Zion MainFrame” post, you actually turned it into a link.
You just need to paste the URL in, don’t make it into a link.
-
Bloody hell, I didnt realise you were monitoring the site to check if its working, your level of dedication is outstanding and welcome, vids now go in as they should, but the thing is I have changed nothing that I did to get them in, when the problem happened four days ago I was using your new media button just as I did today, the link you pointed me to to insert youtube vids clearly says just copy and paste straight into the vis editor but that didnt work, I have re-tried the “The Zion MainFrame” vid using the media button once again and this time I am happy to report that its gone in just fine, so what was the problem??
And THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!! -
There isn’t really any problem that I’m aware of.
Perhaps, when you pasted the URL, your browser was automatically inserting them as links, which will break the embed.

Your a tec guy, I use IE9 is it crap? be honest buddy is it? if it is can you suggest a better one? I have looked around and dont know what I am looking at to be honest with you.
I know there are forums for this sort of thing, its just that its not often I talk to someone who actually knows what they are talking about.Thank you again, and again, and again lol.
-
IE 9 is miles better than the previous versions, but I’m really not a fan of IE in general.
I prefer http://www.google.com/chrome and the latest version of http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ is looking quite nice too.
-
Ok I might do the switch, thank you for your help and advice friend, you went that extra mile which is something hardly seen these days, give yourself a pat on the back for me you deserve it.
Thank you. -
