The intro post is not listed among chapters

  Hi friends,
  The intro post, labeled “Ye necessary intro,” while it is still part of my blog if one traces the various posts back to the beginning, has disappeared from the list of blog parts at the right of the blog.
  Can someone tell me how to resuscitate that poor first part and put the title back where it should be?

  Are you referring to the starter post (and comment) WP sets up for you when you start a new blog? You should just delete that. It’s only there to get you introduced, and make sure your blog can show you want it looks like at first. A blog with no posts might not come out right. Once you make your own post you do not need the starter post, anymore.
