The Kelly Theme
-
Hello WordPress Team,
I recently created another blog with the theme titled, “Kelly.” I have not yet purchased “CSS,” till I get a clarification on a few points as follows:
a. Will the color of the header change or it will be stuck in the same
‘Aqua Green’ color?b. How can the style of font be changed in ‘Knowledge is Power”?
c. Is there anyway to remove ‘Home’ and ‘About’ from the header?
Note that this blog will be more or less confined to weekly newsletter type of stuff by posting informative and educative and articles for the customers to read.
Hence, if you can give satisfactory answers on above three questions, then I will opt to get CSS.

No problem, Time Thief. Surely, CSS team will revert back with answers.
I also need help in trying to figure out how to remove the ‘Comment’
on each post.All I want is a simple flow of articles with related links. I would say a maximum of 20 to 25 articles on a weekly basis. Readers should be able to read it while scrolling through all the posts at one given time.

a. If you decide to purchase the Custom Design upgrade, the header background color can be changed by updating this CSS:
.header-background { background: rgba(6,156,136,0.75); }b. The site title font can be changed by updating this CSS:
.site-title { font-family: 'Leckerli One', cursive; }c. “Home” and “About” are the default menu items and the menu can be customized without any upgrades. From your dashboard, navigate to:
Appearance > Menus
If you’re not familiar with the menu customizer, this guide has a great video overview:

Thank you kindly for your response.
Colors can be changed. You will notice that I have inserted bald eagle in the header. Are you telling me that one getting CSS, then the eagle picture will be displayed in full color?
How do I glance at the font family? What if I decide to chose a font different from what WordPress is offering?
I went to ‘Appearance’ and then to ‘Menu.” I removed the two things, but I did not see “Save Menu.” That’s where I am stuck.
Let me know what’s the next step.
Thanks & Regards,
Rafiq

One more thing that you need to let me know is, how to remove the ‘Comment’ on each post. I do not want anyone to comment on the articles, as it will be removed every ten days.

Using CSS it’s possible to change the color of the header or disable the color overlay and show the original header image instead.
How do I glance at the font family? What if I decide to chose a font different from what WordPress is offering?
When you choosing a font, you need to ensure that its a commonly used font that is installed on most computers. This site has a list of commonly used fonts:

This guide explains how to turn off comments on your posts:

Hello Sir,
I went to “Discussion” section, and followed the instructions. The comment is still visible. I am not sure what I am doing wrong?

On the font, what is the current font that is used in the header? How do I change the font? I want to use some sort of ‘Italic.” Reklame Script” is one of my favorites. How to insert such a font? If it is unadvisable, then I will have to let it go.

You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

TimeThief, I removed all the check marks, and still find out that ‘Leave a comment,” is showing up. Maybe, I am doing something wrong. In any case, let me know, or I will have to ask my song to figure out how to disable and remove the comment that appears after each post on the blog. In fact, that is exactly what I want to remove. Perhaps, CSS forum might have a code to remove it. Rafiq

Rafiq,
Comments are disabled for new posts, but you need to manually remove the comments from published posts.
Below the post editor there is section called “Discussion”. Here is a screenshot of that section:
https://cloudup.com/cc9cie5TdrL
If you don’t see that section, you’ll need to enable it from the Screen Options by following Time Thief’s directions.
Once you uncheck “Allow comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page” you’ll need to click the “Update” button in order to save the changes.
-
Thanks. Yes, you are right that on all new posts, the comment is disabled.
Now, few questions remains about the style of font.Another thing which I like to know is that, on a weekly or fortnightly basis, if I send my customers an updated blogs, then how can I save the old ones. is there any way, I can archive it at the bottom of the blog?

Rafiq,
Can you provide a few more details? Once a blog is published it will remain in your blog feed unless it is deleted or the status is changed to Draft or Private.
If you want to separate your posts, you can use categories to segregate them. This guide has more details:
-
The question is, “Where will the categories be located on Kelly Theme?” Can it be position at the bottom of the blog instead of on the right hand side. I mean to say that the widget of ‘Categories’ to be placed at the bottom and not on the right of the blog page. Rafiq
-
The Kelly theme places the widgets in the footer. You can see an example in the theme demo:

That’s great. Thank you kindly. Now, I will try to purchase CSS and will seriously work on this blog.
I still am confused on how to remove the ‘Home’ and ‘About’ from the header. That’s about all.

Hi Rafiq,
No menu is selected, so the default menu is showing. If you navigate to Appearance > Customize > Menus and select the “Main 1” menu, the current menu will be removed (the “Main 1” menu is currently empty).

Hello CSS Team,
I purchased an upgrade. Now, I am confused. Actually, I want to remove the background color from the header. I want the bald
eagle to show in white ground. The code given was:.header-background {
background: rgba(6,156,136,0.75);
}.site-title {
font-family: ‘Leckerli One’, cursive;
}How do I make the desired changes?
Awaiting the favor of your early reply.
