The large empty space… Can we have instagram/fb feed there instead!?
-
Great theme, is it possible to have a featured post or another widget space on the home page instead of the large empty white space?
In the demo page http://thecolumnist.info/ : There is a post displayed on the top fully wide behind the menu bar (post: introducing 2.0) and the other posts displays in a grid below. In my blog the home page looks half empty , it doesn’t display a featured post. I tried with clicking “sticky post” under visibility but it doesn’t work either.
I’d really like to be able to add a widget for our instagram and facebook feed on the front page ANYWHERE, and this right hand side seems like the perfect place. Please help!
Thank you very much for your time and help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks @timethief and @galois, my mistake about the demo page. I figured out the width thing, looks good now.
But my most pressing issue is trying to get any sort of instagram and facebook link onto our front page.
I understand the widget restriction on the columnist theme, but is there a way I can make the words ‘instagram’ and ‘facebook’ in my top menu appear as icons at the very least?
or in the Site Title/tagline area?I have a css code for the instagram and facebook icon I would like, can I put that somewhere to make it appear ANYWHERE on the front page?
Any help to get a better connection to our fb and instagram would be so very appreciated.

Hi there!
This theme doesn’t support front page widgets. I think your only option here is to add these links to your menu like you have.
We have several other themes that support widgets or even specific social media icon menus, if you’re interested in changing your theme:

Let me know if I can help with anything else!
