The Lazy Link
-
OK, I’ve looked through all of the link posts, and it seems like this question has been asked before, but I still can’t find the solution.
I have links embedded in Text Widgets that are supposed to go to other places… hence “link”. For some reason, they refuse. They refresh the page and come right back to the site.
I can get them to work in the blogroll, but not in the widget. So close, but oh so far away.Link-Challenged at http://www.roomfordebate.com/

Check the code of your links: have you perhaps pasted the URL in on top of the “HTTP” that was already there? That will do it.

This is what my code looks like for the New York Times.

can you show what’s the html code that you used to insert in the text widget? it’s supposed to look like this;
< A HREF=”URL HERE” >link name< /a >
(close spaces between < and >) -
i clicked on the link you provided above my comment, and all it did was redirect me to this thread. your url must be incorrect or something…

ok i manually copied the link and it shows up fine. so there shouldn’t be a problem with the link if you use the right html tag in the text widget.
