The link to my About page just loads my home page
-
I mapped a registered domain to my wordpress blog, and now that I’ve sorted out all the DNS registry stuff (holy cow), the site loads and email works, but for some reason clicking the About link on the main page just loads the main page. I know the page is there, because I’ve edited it about fourteen times over the past two days. What the heck have I ticked or unticked, or accidentally deleted or omitted to do?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am able to see your lovely About page at http://wendybarron.com/about/
Are you not able to see it? Hopefully you solved your problem.

Hi Seema,
If you log into your blog’s back-end, can you check to see if your about page is created under “Posts” or under “Pages”?
I believe it’s being displayed because you created it as a blog post.
All the best,

Thank you, Chait. I am able to do it now, after clearing my cache (yet again) and restarting the browser (again). Maybe the computer just needed to sleep on it.
Oh the things I learn to try, and try again.
Gracias,

I’m facing a similar issue. When I click on my “About” it opens another page for and advertisement. I am also having lots of Ads today from” Ad by couponpeAk “….Some of them are inappropriate for my audience. I created this for my neighborhood. The last thing I want is for them to be diverted by these types of things…Also some of my words have been highlighted blue/underlined/all caps with a green square and arrow thru it from Ad by couponpeAk to click on. Is that from WordPress?
Thanks,
Laura -
Could you post the link to your blog so I will be able to see what is happening? Hopefully your site is not private.

Here is my blog link. It is not private. http://glamourtales.wordpress.com
Thanks,

re: ads
To off-set the costs of providing free hosting to millions of bloggers, WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read the advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.10. Advertisements. Automattic reserves the right to display advertisements on your blog unless you have purchased an Ad-free Upgrade or a VIP Services account. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/
If the ads you see are found at the end of blog posts then provided you see this small About These Ads link what you are seeing is WordPress.com generated advertising.
Any other ads appearing to you are not placed by WordPress.com. You have an issue on your browser or computer. They are being placed there by software on your own computer, unfortunately. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

Ok, I did read everything and understand bills need to be paid. I have no problem with that. I guess I didn’t realize that it was going to constantly be refreshing while on the page while I’m logged in looking at it to show someone……I’ll do another virus check to ensure I have not Malware or Adware. Thanks for your time.

Yes that’s an adware issue. You’re welcome, Laura.
