The links icons disappeared form my dashboard. how to restore or add?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If the links (chain) icon is grayed out that means you failed to select the text you wanted to link to first. Once you do that the icon will become active.

Presumably you are not referring to http://uniontheater.wisc.edu/index.asp as that’s not a free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we don’t provide support for it here.
We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. So if your are referring to that site and if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
