The Markdown settings appear to be missing in WordPress 3.8.1

I tried following the steps in this article below on two different 3.8.1 installations of WordPress I have, and cannot find any of these check boxes!

My hosted blog below isn’t the one affected, though I would consider using Markdown there too.
(I’m trying to set up a new instance and retrofit an old one.)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress comes in different flavors and what is available on WordPress.com may not be available in an ORG install or available only via jetpack. If you need help with your standalone WordPress installs, please head over to the support forums on WordPress.org, the link is in the footer below.

Aw dang it… in following all the links trying to figure out the answer, I ended up switching around my COM and ORG installs.

I found a few posts about JetPack enabling Markdown (which I have installed), and I hadn’t realized the settings panels look so similar now, I would just fall into that trap.

    That must be it…

Thanks for caps locking and clarifying!

    YOU’RE WELCOME. :D

(So happy to find someone here this morning who has a sense of humor.)

Heh… well, I just spent like, 2 hours, trying to figure out why I couldn’t find that stupid checkbox without checking the org/com origin on the kb article.

If I can’t laugh at myself, I figure someone else should get a chance! :)

(Thanks again… now to go find a good Markdown plugin!)
