I tried to import a file from a wordpress.org site and the import still hasn’t completed and I am seeing the following message:

Sometimes the importer gets stuck. I tagged this thread for Staff to reset it for you. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. -
I’ve stopped the failed import for you. Would you please re-attempt the import and let me know if it fails again?

Hi there,
I tested out the import file you were using on a test blog, and the import completed there correctly, so I do not believe there is an error with your XML file. There might be an issue with your connection to our servers though.
Would you mind trying it out one more time on your end? If it fails again, please let me know if you’re okay with me attempting the import on your behalf.

Sorry for the failed import once again… I’ve reset it so you can reattempt from your other machine.
One thing I noticed is that you do have a lot of posts on the blog to which you’re importing. Is there a lot of duplicate content in those posts and the ones you’re importing?
Normally that shouldn’t make an import fail, you’ll just have duplicate posts/pages… but I’m not used to dealing with imports of that scale. So if several hundred posts are duplicates that number of errors may be part of it.
When I tested out your XML file, I imported into an empty test site, and that’s where I had no error.

I started to import by Ubuntu from yesterday at 11:45am…
I tried uploading from Ubuntu instead of Windows.
We made nine separate files, then I started to import the first one.
I’m not making duplicate content in those posts.I received email from WordPress. Import failed at this time again

I’ve reset the import again.
What version of WordPress is your self-hosted site? If it’s on an older version, sometimes updating to the most recent version, then re-exporting can clear this up.
