The MORE feature
-
Ok … silly question but new to this. I have an article 4 pages long. I only want the first sentence to show then the MORE (to link to the article). How is everyone doing this?

Is the article going to be in a post? If so, put the more tag into the post where you want the break to be. When people click on it, they will be taken to the permalink post page so they can read the rest of the article.
My suggestion is to always put the more tag at the end of a paragraph or a sentence.

In the visual editor, on the top row of icons is one that looks like two white blocks separated by a dotted line. Put your cursor where you want the more tag and click on that icon. If you hover your mouse over it, the “tooltip” box will come up and say “insert more tag.”

One sentence? Unless it’s quite startlingly enticing you may find your click-through ratio to be quite low. I would advise putting out a little more for your audience to get them hooked before adding the More tag. You need them to have a degree of buy-in before hitting them with the “I need you to do something for me: click” thing.
