The Mysterious Code

I was posting a post on a new blog I created and stumbled upon this code just bellow the text form,

blockquoteError: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Vary: Cookie,Accept-Encoding X-hacker: If you’re reading this, you should visit automattic.com/jobs and apply to join the fun, mention this header. Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Encoding: gzip Content-Length: 21 Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2008 01:34:00 GMT Server: LiteSpeed Connection: close 3!/blockquote

Thats all very interesting but what does it mean, I’m pretty sure I didn’t do it.

Excuse the broken blockquote tags, they aren’t part of the error.

  • Those are the HTTP headers that are normally received and interpreted by your web browser. It looks like there was a glitch in the network connection that confused your browser, which displayed them as content instead of handling them as it normally would.

If it happens repeatedly, please let us know. If not, blame it on gremlins.
