The new comment log in

Why oh why did you “fix” something that was not broken? I absolutely detest the new comment box! I used to be able to type just the first few letters of my screen name and the email and http address would autofill. The new comment box is a mess. It autofills my gravatar address instead of my blog address. I personally do not need to log in via facebook or twitter.
I never know anymore which comment box is going to appear. yesterday I had the old, GOOD easy to use one. Today I got a message on one blog I comment on regularly to “log in” to wordpress to comment.
Sheesh. Can we just have the old box back?

I’m sorry that the new comment form isn’t working for you. The “login to comment” message is probably a one time thing, when the functionality changed.
Be it as it may, we’ve registered your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future features and updates.
Also, don’t forget the ideas forum , where you can discuss your suggestion with the WordPress.com community.

Thanks for getting back to me. While I can understand wordpress wants to keep up- this new comment format is really and truly a pain. I have to correct the http address EVERY SINGLE TIME as it autofills my gravatar address.
There really should be an option for us to get rid of this thing and use the old comment box- which worked just fine. Many of us on the blogs I frequent HATE the new box. The font is too small for us older boomers to read easily and it is annoying to have to continually make corrections. -

As for the URL that it auto-fills, you can change that by adding at Website in your profile information at Users -> Personal Settings in your blog’s Dashboard.
