The new drag and drop media loader is not displaying on my machines at home, although it does at work. What could keep the new one from being used?

Could you please tell me a little more about the problem? Can you not see the new uploader at all at home or does it show up but not work when you drop images into it? What happens exactly? Do you see any error messages?

It would also help to know what browser and browser version you are using at home?

Sometimes clearing browser cache and cookies helps. You should try that as a first troubleshooting step.

As a temporary workaround, you should always be able to use the browser uploader instead if you need to upload an image when the new uploader is not working for you.

I have two machines at home, both running Internet Explorer 9. Both show the same thing – the new uploader does not show at all. Instead, I see the old one, which still works just like before.

The one at work that did show the Drag and Drop browser was Firefox.

I have cleared the cache and cookies on both with no effect.

Can you please make sure that you have Flash installed with IE?

The Vista computer has Flash 11 Active X in the installed programs, and it shows in the IE plugins

Drag and drop won’t work in that uploader. It’s only available when you add files from the post editor/writer interface.

When trying to upload images via your Add New Post page, can you make sure that you’re using the Flash uploader instead of the Browser uploader?

Yeah, that is definitely the old uploader, which shouldn’t display at all.

I’d like to rule-out a browser-specific issue. Would you please check in Chrome?

That’s good, at least now we know that we can focus on IE.

Are you running any add-ons with IE 9? If so, would you please try disabling those?
