Hi there,
re: http://katalyma.wordpress.com/
The wordpress version is not relevant here at WordPress.COM. It’s only relevant to those who have WordPress.ORG software installs and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
The version of WordPress software every wordpress.COM site runs on is the most recent one. Here, at wordpress.COM our Staff do all version upgrades for us users, and they are done 1 month before they are released to wordpress.ORG users.
For wordpress.ORG support questions post to https://wordpress.org/support

Thank you,
I know all that. Nevertheless, the question is relevant because this new version contains various innovations regarding GDPR. These are also important for WP.com users. -
Have you read this sticky post on GDPR?

Note that I have tagged this thread with modlook for Staff to respond to any additional questions you may have about GDPR.

Hello again,
Staff have requested that Volunteers like me tag all threads related to the GDPR with modlook for their attention after we provide the link to the sticky post.
Generally speaking, as I said above here, at wordpress.COM our Staff do all version upgrades for us users, and they are done 1 month before they are released to wordpress.ORG users. Please be patient while awaiting their response.
I have also located this https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_4.9.6 and rthis https://wordpress.org/news/2018/05/wordpress-4-9-6-privacy-and-maintenance-release/ that you may wish to read while waiting.

Thank you again. Where do you think I got the information about the new WP version? ;-)

Hi there,
WordPress 4.9.6 has already been merged into WordPress.com, but the GDPR-specific features of WordPress 4.9.6 are not being ported to WordPress.com.
The way data is collected and stored on a self-hosted WordPress site, and the way WordPress.com collects and stores data, is different, so those tools would not work properly on a WordPress.com site, so we are developing our own tools to allow site users to comply with requests to provide or remove data, as we’ve also mentioned in other threads and the en.blog post on the GDPR.
Both our privacy.blog and the GDPR support page will have updates regarding this by the end of the month and going forward.
