  I have been trying for years to get used to your so called new and improved posting format but truth is, I loathe it. I recently lost all my info due to a browser add on crash so I can’t find what I was using, the old black and white page. I need to know how to get that back so I can return to blogging enjoyably. I have a mental disorder that causes the bright blue to be distracting and alarming so posting is not pleasant with that editor. Please please help me. I’ve been with wordpress 9 years, I don’t want to have to leave over this issue but it is a huge issue for me.

  Hi,

  At My Site you’ll find a link to the WP-Admin dashboard at the bottom of the admin menu at the left. You can also get the WP-Admin dashboard by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site address (URL). I’d suggest creating a bookmark to that page. If you’ve been using WordPress.com for 9 years, then you’re probably familiar with how to navigate the WP-Admin dashboard. Let me know if you have any specific questions regarding the dashboard.

  In order to avoid the new editor, the one you and I don’t like, I’d suggest that you consult the following articles:

  Of the add-ons suggested in the Going back to the classic editor article for running the necessary user script (for redirecting post and page links from the blue editors to the old wp-admin editors), I used Greasemonkey for years, but it stopped working for me a couple of years ago after an update. I’ve switched to Tampermonkey and it’s working perfectly.

  I figured it out. domain name.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

  I saved it to 5 different locations, not losing it again. I will use it til they pry it from my cold dead virtual hands.

  The post redirects I referred to above might not be an issue for you, but if you ever click on an edit link from a visible post (or page), as I do very frequently, then you’ll find yourself back in the new blue editor. The redirect script prevents that from happening, and takes you straight to the wp-admin editor of that specific post. The link you’ve saved is a good one, but it doesn’t take you directly to a specific post editor.

  I’ve switched to Tampermonkey and it’s working perfectly.

  Not quite perfectly. The post and page edit links are redirecting perfectly from the blue editors to the corresponding wp-admin editors, but not comment edit links. So I might try another option soon.
