The older, friendlier, much better dashboard

Is it gone forever? The new, nicer looking, but far less user-friendly version has finally killed off the old one?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No kidding. The advent of Calypso was the dead knell for me.
You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.
I recommend bookmarking that link or memorizing it.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login correctly under the relevant username account.
To start a new post http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/wp-admin/link-add.php
*Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.

I’m just wondering…is it necessary to bookmark or memorize the link?
On my site, if I look at the bottom of the list in the “new dashboard” I see a link for “WPAdmin”…and if I click that link I go to the nice, old dashboard.
Maybe I’ve missed the point of this discussion…if so, I’m sorry.

Many of us desktop users do not appreciate the new editor nor the new user interface one little bit. We do not want to use an editor that we feel is inferior to the classic editor. We are offended by the idiotic message on our dashboards that indicate we ought to use the new improved editor. In fact, I have been here for over 10 years and I predate all support docs and all support staff being on staff except one member. My testimony is that the advent of Calypso https://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/ and the 2 years of changes required to implement it did the opposite of improving my blogging experience. I threw in the towel and no longer blog here.

Timethief…I know what you mean. It’s the same with so many other “improvements” that various outfits try to force on us.
I’ve used self-hosted WordPress sites for years, and I’ve also (recently) been using WordPress.COM, and it’s very disorienting to me the way everything on .COM works.
How great it would be if WordPress.com stuff worked the way it works on self-hosted sites.
By the way, I’ve noticed that you answer a lot of questions around here…very impressive…I don’t know how you do it, but I’m happy that you do…you’re so nice to help so much.

I hate to sound like a fuddy-duddy, but I too really dislike the new and improved editor. It’s not an improvement, for all the many reasons folks have cited since its introduction.
But okay, for reasons beyond my comprehension the gurus decided a new one was needed. Fine. I have nothing against providing more choices. But in make the older dashboard less immediately accessible (I now have to click on a browser bookmark to access the older dashboard), it now seems that WP is trying to wean us off the older editor. I object.
Please maintain the availability of the older editor. Thank you.
