The one-step easy installation was anything but easy and one step. Why?

Why did I get duplicate and multiple charges from both Bluehost and Mojomarketplace – some unauthorized?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I’m afraid you’re in the wrong forum. This support forum is for free WordPress.com blogs. You appear to have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG install. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Please visit the WordPress.org support forum for assistance as we won’t be able to help you here: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.

I went online to sign up for a WordPress.com blog, and, without any notification, it changed to WordPress.org. I just learned today it was a WordPress.org blog (which has caused all kinds of problems and duplicate/unauthorized charges from host providers.) How do I change back to WordPress.com without losing my domain name?

  • without any notification, it changed to WordPress.org.

To get a WordPress.org blog you have to buy a domain, buy hosting, and install the WordPress.org software and a theme to that hosted domain. It’s not something that just happens. You might not have understood what you were doing, but you did it nonetheless. There is no option here that you could possibly have selected that can convert your blog to WordPress.org. There is no direct connection between the two platforms.

To connect a WordPress.com blog to a custom domain you already own you need to buy a domain mapping upgrade from Store ->Domains in the dashboard of the WordPress.com blog: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

You should cancel any outside hosting you have as you don’t need that for a WordPress.com blog. Keep paying your current registrar for your domain itself (you won’t be able to transfer that to WordPress.com), but cancel the hosting. To do that you’ll need to contact your current hosting provider and/or seek help on the .org forum as we cannot help you with that here.

We can’t help you here with any charges made by other hosting providers. You’ll have to contact them directly in that regard.
