The page jump code is being stripped out when emailing a post.
Blog url: http://quakewatch.wordpress.com/ -
As an example the code might be:
Which is a place holder for an image
When I email this the whole line is being removed.
If I format it like this:
image-here
i.e. with some text in the placeholder space, the name part is stripped away and the href part is left. -
-
Oh hell this just si not working right.
{a name=”location”}{a href=”the address of the page” title=”Location Maps (Click the image for USGS pages)”}image-here{/a}{/a}
Relaced the chevrons with curly braces so you can see it.
-
The page was not working properly before and I could not see the instructions
Here it is again
<a name="location"><a href="the address of the page" title="Location Maps (Click the image for USGS pages)"></a></a>This gets stripped out leaving nothing
<a name="location"><a href="the address of the page" title="Location Maps (Click the image for USGS pages)">location map goes here</a></a>leaves location map goes here with the jump but the name element has been stripped.
I have been experimenting with the ID tag as well but the same happens.

I don’t see anything particularly wrong with that code. Can you give us a link to a post or page with the problem?
-
Hi, I will send one as soon as I can but this is not sent from word or from an email client as it is a semi-automated system that posts earthquake data for Mag 6+ quakes so next one I will let you know.
On second thoughts I will see if I can work one up. I’ll be back.
-
Sorry, other problems!
OK there is a post that I just emailed and the post number is 3101. The subject is Magnitude 5.2 Greece 11-Nov-11 (c0006p2k)
After the first table the code should read:
</tbody></table> <a name="location"></a> <strong>Location Map(s)</strong>But it reads
</tbody> </table> <strong>Location Map(s)</strong>I does not matter where I put this if the
<a name=is there is gets stripped. -
Do you have luck if you manually email the content of the post, bypassing the automated system?
-
Hi macmanx. Just sent one and no, exactly the same thing happens – the name part get stripped out.
It was sent using plain text email. If you want to email me I can send you a copy so you can try it?
-
Sure, can you please send a copy to support@wordpress.com and reference this thread?
We’ll continue through the email.
