The 'parent' option has disappeared

  I am trying to locate a sub page under a main page. When I edit the page, there is no ‘parent’ option in the ‘Page Attributes’ menu on the right, although it used to be there. I only see ‘Template’ and ‘Order’, but no ‘Parent’. Does anyone know what went wrong?

  Please go to the top right hand corner of your Admin page and click “screen options“. It will drop down an area with a list of the different things you can show or hide. Select and inlcude these modules:
  Page – Likes and Shares, Page Attributes, Featured Image, Discussion, Comments, Page Revisions, Slug, Author, Revisions, Writing Helper

  If reselecting the modules does not work http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/ then I will flag this thread for Staff attention.

  Thank you so kind for paying attention to my question. I followed your instructions. Although the ‘Page Attributes’ box was already ticked, the ‘Parent’ element suddenly returned. So the problem seems to be solved. Thanks again.
  There’s another thing: I have added a ‘Home’ page (marcoderks.wordpress.com/home) but there is already another ‘Home’ page (marcoderks.wordpress.com) mentioned in the menu. However, I can’t find the latter so when I go to marcoderks.wordpress.com I see the text:

  Not Found
  Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.

  But I can’t figure out how to solve this. Do you know that?

  The solution to this two home pages issue is to set up a custom menu and select only the Ho0me page you created to appear in it. For more information on setting up custom menus please see this support doc.
