The person hosting my old blog disappeared – can I access it?
-
A long time ago, I created a blog through someone else’s blog hosting domain. (I don’t even know if this is the right terminology.) Basically, my blog’s url was something like:
myblog.theotherguysurl.com
It’s been so long since I logged into it that I’ve forgotten my username. I tried three things to recover it, and none worked:
1. I clicked ‘Lost your password?’ and attempted to have a new one emailed to me. I got this error: ‘The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.’2. I went to The Other Guy’s website and tried to email their support. That email address is no longer working. I got an email saying that ‘Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:’
3. I tried to recover it through the WordPress support recovery thing. But, it asked me for proof that I don’t have like activation URLs and stuff.
Is there any way to get back into my old blog? I’d really like to delete it.
Thanks for any help.
