I am running Chrome latest version. I cleared the cache and browser history. 3rd party cookies are running, flash is up to date. I can see the photos for the latest post headed Iguassu Falls Part 1, but the post headed, We made it to Rio has only 1 box at the end detailed P1010674, and when I double click it I get a new window which says, 404 – File not found. There should be at least 6 photos there. Grateful if you can tell if you can see these photos at the end of the Rio section and if so why can’t I?

Over the past week, you have deleted many files from your medial library. Once deleted, these images will disappear from your posts. They need to exist somewhere in order to be displayed in the posts.
-
Many thanks rootjosh, I didn’t know that. I thought that once I’d finished with them they could go. I’ll put them the ones I want in the blog back in the media library.

You will need to reinsert them into the posts manually. The system will not automatically know where they need to go, I’m afraid.

Hi rootish,
I’ve now done that – 2 more queries for you
1. Is there a limit to how many photos there can be in my Media Library
2. For my 2016 blog I’ve carried on with new posts into my 2015 blog. Is it possible to start a new blog without carrying on from the last one or do you just keep posting new pages.
Excuse my poor knowledge of bloggingNigel

Hello nigelkingston,
I just wanted to suggest something to help troubleshoot if there was an upload limit that has been reached or not. Create a backup of your site then test the photos with a different theme such as TwentySixteen and disable all plugins. This could also help troubleshoot weather its a theme or plugin issue.
Hope this helps. -
1. No, it is just a total size limit. 3GB for free WordPress.com sites. Which should be enough for thousands and thousands of images if you are uploading at a reasonable web size.
2. That all depends on you. Most people do not change blogs year after year. But I suppose I have seen some sites structured as “johnsgreatsite2015” and then I assume they would make a new “johnsgreatsite2016” the next year.
Generally though, I would discourage that. You will lose all of your followers, built up traffic and search engine rankings every time you switch sites.

You are not giving very accurate advice in this instance. Except in VERY rare situations, media upload limits do not apply to self-hosted WordPress.org sites. And there are no plugins on WordPress.com sites.
So you are mixing things together that do not make sense.
Also, anyone can see the amount of space their media library is taking up on a WordPress.com site by going to their dashboard —> Media Library and looking at the top of the page. Screenshot:

I see,
Yes It would be better to try that on a test site rather than the live site. Also I think my suggestion was more for wordpress.org site. Sorry for not giving more accurate advice. That has work well for me in the past troubleshooting issues as the site was being build.
