The Public View

    Hello,

If you click on me in this post, you will go to my latest entry, as it should be. But if you enter WP from the main page, and you are not a member, not logged in, you will connect with my first entry, made in January. If you click on Home, you will see all the postings. But not everyone does this. Stats indicate that most surfers/searchers stop at this first post.

As time goes on, this first Jan. post will get older and older, perhaps convincing the casual surfer that mine is an ill-attended blog, so they pass on. I am currently using the Connections theme. All of the four or five other themes I have tried do the same thing–send the outside, or public, surfer to the oldest page. My question is: is there a theme that will send the public surfer/searcher to the latest post instead of the earliest post? Or is there something I can do in the dashboard of my current theme that will send the same surfer to my latest post instead of my earliest post?

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you set that first entry as a static page, and set it as your opening page?

I’m not aware that I “set” the first page in any way. It was simply my first post. Thanks.

What do you mean by “the main page?” And what is the exact URL of the first post? I can’t duplicate this.

    Hello raincoaster,

By main page, I mean the page Google will give you if you search for WordPress.com. The URL of my first post is: http://hudowen.wordpress.com/2009/01/25/9/

Thank you for your continued interest.
