The Recent Posts and "More Posts" header does not work on my Ixion Theme website

Hi there… The “More posts” referral that is supposed to be at the top of my recent page posts in the Ixion theme does not show up.
Instead, what I have is a list of all the most recent posts, and a “Older Posts” button way below them.Is there any way to fix this?
Planning on going premium if I have a good first week experience on here.

Hi!
Ixion’s front pages uses a special template that gets triggered when you set a Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page). Then you can set a second page as your Posts Page (that is where the ‘More Posts’ link will take you).
Right now your home page is set to the WordPress default of displaying all of your blog post :)
Try creating a page named “Home” and setting it as your static front page, as well as a page for your posts (you can name it “Blog” or “News” or anything you like) and let me know how it looks!

Ok, so I understood the instructions you gave and was able to make the more posts appear… However, there was a little catch.
The featured Images and the post excerpts that was there under the previous settings, were no longer there. Is there any way to make the Home/landing page have featured pictures and little news snippets like it was before?
Or are both mutually exclusive?

I also need the Page ID for one of my pages. It is supposed to be a page where people who have made a successful donation would be referred to , so I don’t want it to be visible under the navigation….. As such, I need the page ID, in order to exclude it.
I understand the Page IDs have been removed fro the URL in the newest wordpress.Here is the page I am referring to.

Not true. At least not regarding WordPress.com.

The way the front page behaves on the Ixion theme is described in the Ixion theme guide. It won’t display excerpts like the posts page.

On this theme, yes.

Hi yes, I was able to find the page ID and exclude it from Public view in the widget settings.

For security reasons, it’s not possible to add raw JavaScript on WordPress.com. You can learn more here about the types of code that are allowed:
What type of widget are you trying to add? Sometimes there are workarounds for specific sorts of things that don’t involve JavaScript.

I am trying to add a live chat widget.
The present one being offered seem to be lacking in a lot of features I would like. -

If you have a different chat service you prefer, the workaround would be to see if they provide a standalone page you can link to from a text widget. Folks could then click the link to access the chat window.
