The research supervisor’s friend blog site
-
I have asked for help previously and I am frustrated that each of the automatic responses provided do not solve my problem of accessing my site the research supervisor’s friend. I believe that something has changed in the WordPress system and this has inadvertently connected me to a gaming tutorial site, which is not my site, and lost me access to me site the research supervisor’s friend. The account recovery process which you suggest does not work as the criteria you have for proof only came into being after I had established this site. it is about ten years old and I have been the author of the site from the outset. The only proof that this is my site is in the content and its constant reference to Geof Hill and (email visible only to moderators and staff). I would really appreciate some assistance with this and a better way of communicating with WordPress

Hi there,
The only proof that this is my site is in the content and its constant reference to Geof Hill and [email redacted]
We cannot accept that as proof of ownership for that site.
The account you’re trying to gain access to is associated with a different email address than the one you mentioned. If you still have access to that email you can use our password reset tool:
https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If that doesn’t work, in order to regain access to a WordPress.com account, we’ll need one of the following things:
* A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/
* The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us.
For more information please read our Account Recovery guide:

Thank yo for this information.
Your phrase advising that the site was linked to a different email address has alerted me to an old email address that I used for the site and I have been through that able to reclaim my site. -
