The Selecta Theme
-
I just noticed that my home page shifts down. I see 4 white horizontal lines. On my Resource page I see 2 white horizontal lines. I would like my Home page to look like the other one.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like there are two things going on here.
First of all, that theme utilizes the Featured Post Slider and Latest Posts theme options, as detailed here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/selecta/
You can enabled those options on this page:
https://accessibledestination.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=theme_optionsWithout those options, there will be a space, and lines, where the options are supposed to go. I also noticed that Selecta draws a thin line to separate the post/page title, so that accounts for the additional lines.
Additionally, the theme doesn’t set a background color for post/page titles, so if you use a custom background, the text will not stand out against the background and will be difficult or impossible to read.
Because these are issues specific to the Selecta theme, you should probably activate and utilize the theme options so that things display properly. If not, you will need to use Custom Design upgrade to modify your CSS to hide the lines.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘custom page’. As far as I can tell from my own testing, if you don’t implement the theme options to fill in those content areas, you will have the white lines by default unless you use custom CSS to remove them.

Ok. I under stand What your saying. I just was wondering why my other pages don’t show the white lines. So I thought I would make a new home page and call it Welcome. But I don’t think that will work.

The lines are actually on all of your pages. The home page has more because that page is the one that shows the theme option areas. If you created a new page and made it your home page, you’d run into the same issues.
If you’re not interested in using the theme options for Selecta, you might take a look at the other themes we offer, and you might find one that works better for your needs.

Ok. we will. I have gone through so many themes ha ha. I liked this one because of colors of navigation. I have to keep the vision impaired when designing.

I think that theme will work much better for your needs, as the post/page title doesn’t get obscured by the background image, among other things.
Please let me know if you need any other help with accessibility and your site.
