The site copied to another domain gets messed up when I change the A record
-
Hi everyone, I’m copying a site using Migrate Guru to a domain identical to the one hosting the site, but with a different extension—from .com to .it, for example. I use Migrate Guru, and everything works at first. That is, I end up with the .com site on WordPress.com identical to the .it site hosted on an external server.
So I’m trying to point the A records of the .com domain to the hosting hosting the .it, and it turns out that both addresses lead to the same site with the .it URL, but it’s all messed up.
I don’t understand what I’m missing, what I’m doing wrong, and where can I fix it? If I then restore the A records of the WordPress .com, the two sites appear perfectly, separate and independent.

Hi @edipo76.
It sounds like you’ve done quite a bit already! To better understand what’s going on and offer specific guidance, could you please share the full site URL(s) involved?
That way, we can check whether the site is hosted on WordPress.com or elsewhere, and point you in the right direction based on your setup.
Looking forward to your reply!
