  I created an account with WordPress but am unable to create a site without navigating around and around and around with a domain that I already own. So, how do I create a site with an existing account and domain name?

  Hi there, here’s how you can use your custom domain with a WPcom website: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  If you are unable to create a site by using your domain, try creating a free WPcom site first and then upgrading.

  Let us know how that goes.

  No go. All I want to do is use this domain name to create a simple, free, blog. I had another WP blog once and it was no trouble at all.

  I will try to create a “free” page one more time.

  I may upgrade later but all I want to do is get something set up now.

  Custom domains are available on WPcom websites with a paid upgrade. To have a free WPcom site, you can register either the free .wordpress.com or .home.blog subdomain offered.
