The sitemap.xml of my blog appears in a google search including images that were deleted mora than a

I have several related problems:
–In a google search of my name, the sitemap of my wordpress blog appears. As far as I know sitemaps should not appear in a Google search.
–As far as I have seen in other sitemaps, in general, the about page of the blog appears at the end of the sitemap, specially if it has not been modified in months or more than a year, as it is my case. In my case, in the sitemap that appears in the Google search (which is the same as the one who appears when I generate it in my PC inserting the url ‘blogname.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml) appears in the begining of the sitemap.
–and what is worst, several images that I published in the about page but that were deleted more than a year ago appears in the about part of the sitemap 8that is in the begining) and also in the Google search.
¿ How could it be possibe that images that I deleted from the blog more than a year ago are appearing today in a Google search ? ¿ How could it be possible that the about page, that I did not change in more than a year appears at the begining of the sitemap ? ¿ How could it be possible that my sitemap appears in a google search ?
I have seen that the last problem (sitemap appearing in a google search) has already happened to other users. I kindly ask support members to clarify if the two other problems are also ‘frequent’ and which technical reasons can explain them. Also welcomed how to solve this problem: I suppose that Goolge Webmasters page would be the best way, but which is the best way once you are in this page ?
P.s. I thank in advance any help. I am sorry to say that I am not willing to provide personal information such as blog name etc… in this thread. However I would share this information with individuals from the support team by private communication ( email).

Hi,
The same person that wrote the original post is writing here.
I have checked again and it turns out that I did change the about page a few weeks ago. I was experimenting with a link to linkedin from this about page. That explains the fact that the about page appears at the begining of the sitemap.
And can also explain (I am not sure about this ) why the sitemap appears in a google search: it is possible that the update of the about page and adding a link to it gave relevance, regarding the search crawler, to this about page. Is this a possible explanation ?
Some of the images contains my surname in the title, so that explains why these images appear in the google search and not other posts or images.
I still do not understand the biggest problem: why the images I deleted more than a year ago (this is for sure, some were deleted several years ago) appears in the sitemap. I suppose this is not a Google problem. Isn´t it a WordPress problem…
Again thank you in advance for all your cooperation.
