The slideshow for Forever theme does not work!

Slideshow forever theme
Even after reading the forum, Time thief is the only person giving the exact same answer over and over again and unfortunately the sticky post solution does not create a solution. Nor will the posts with image and summary text below in four columnsThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://susieq5000.wordpress.com/ is not wearing the Forever theme. Please provide the URL for the blog in question in the form of an active link starting with http://
Also know this. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Trying to keep url private and we understand the difference between WordPress .com and .org. functionality. susieqandmichael.wordpress is the problem, timethief. Already read every single post that you have reposted and the sticky notes does not provide the solution. You are kind to offer the same suggestion but unfortunately it does not work.

Previous answers:
There is no slideshow in the header of the Forever theme. There is a post slider for featured posts with featured images. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/
That is the to link to the Forever Theme Description where you will find instructions for “A Dramatic Personalized Home Page”.
You need sticky posts with featured images for the slider to display. Featured Images must be at least 887 pixels wide and height 355px.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-postsTo show only your four latest posts (with a Featured Image above each one, of course) in a neat grid on your home page visit Appearance → Theme Options and click the checkbox there.
Thumbnail on 4-column showcase for recent posts. Width 195px, maximum height 124px (cropped if larger).

For the slider to work in the Forever theme, the original size of the featured images you are using in your posts need to all be at least 887 pixels wide and 355 pixels tall.
All of your featured images are smaller than 887 x 355 px.
Can you try using larger featured images?
-
Thank you, Designsimply; however, on photoshop all of the featured images on our post are 885 × 252 pixels however look at the http://nonprofitstrategiesmn.com/ site who’s image doesn’t appear to be as large as our featured images once you click on their page posts. Three dots appear at the bottom of the image showing that there is a carousel slideshow setup. There must be more to this! Also the four column post style doesn’t appear on our page either.

Still searching for a slideshow solution! Is that timethief on Sep 7, 2012, 5:03 PM you mentioned that the demensions are different: Your featured images must be 888 pixels wide & DesignSimply says 887pixels. What is the correct answer for this slide show to work?
Look at this site: http://www.elpanaderocasero.com/
There are clear circular dots that appear below the image to indicate how many photos can slide within the header. Where are we going wrong here?
Timethief’s answer:
There is no slidehow in the header of that theme. There is a featured post slider. The instructions are found on the Theme Description page which is linked to on the bottom of your theme. To find the details for your theme click the theme link in the footer of your blog >
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/
live demo link > http://foreverdemo.wordpress.com/
Forum threads > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/foreverYour featured images must be 888 pixels wide. The post slider automatically shows up, once you set the 888-pixel image as a featured image and designate it as a sticky post.

I resized all images and there is still no solution with the Forever theme? Any other lasting suggestions? Many people seem to have this reoccurring problem but no solutions!

P.S. I’m loading this theme on my test blog now and I have also tagged this thread for Staff help.

P.P.S. Sorry but I have a client calling in and I cannot load that theme fast enough to experiment with it before she calls. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you, for trying TimeThief! PS: All my images are sized 888×355.
Good luck with your client! Hopefully we can speak soon too & you can have an invite to the wedding if all goes well!

Don’t feel pressured or rushed to answer. Just wanted to let you know that there are four blog posts that do not display in columns with photo above and I can create a new post for support for that. Confirming that every image on display currently header display is 888×355. Still listening to every word and sound advice on this forum thread! Thank you!

You’re on the right track. I see that the featured image in the “Our Story!” post is big enough now. But the post is not set as a sticky post, and that is also a requirement.
Let’s step back and look at some more specific steps. :)
In your susieqandmichael site, go to the Posts page in the dashboard and open the “Our Story!” post for editing.
Find the “Publish” box near the top right.
Click “Edit” next to where it says Visibility: Public.
Make sure this option is checked, “Stick this post to the front page.”
Click the “Update” button.

Hello, Ms. DesignSimply that is exactly where I went wrong! Michael helped me discover the edit & public visibility button and sadly, I thought I did this already; when Timethief placed this step in her previous answer! For some reason your Friday response update was not showing up last night! But, I see your swift reply now and on behalf of any lost and determined souls trying to improve their site on WordPress we thank you for taking the time to answer all of our questions. It doesn’t go unrecognized! Millions of THANKS!
