The tabs on my site have disappeared, how can I get them back?

    My site, corneighhoff.com, no longer has those tabs at the top, dividing my work into categories. I picked up a two-year premium subscription last Friday, and started building my site yesterday. I would not consider myself illiterate when it comes to IT, but I admit I am inexperienced when it comes to WordPress or other sitebuilding.

    Here’s what I did so far.

    I uploaded content, which I divided into categories, and using the menu option under “view” (at least I assume it’s view; I am using a Dutch version, which has “weergave”) I divided my categories over various items and sub-items. The menu-structure tree represented exactly what I wanted, and so did my site.

    At a later stage, I added a new (sub) category, and at the same time tried to change the name of one of the existing sub-items. I think that there something went wrong, because the item I wished to change became highlighted (in red) and there was a pop-up telling me to either correct or delete this menu-item, before I could save any changes. As I could not find the “correct” option anywhere, I deleted the item. The consequence of this was that the tabs on my site had completely disappeared. The content was still there, but there was just my homepage, meaning that a visitor of my site, interested in one category of my publications, would have to scroll through all my uploads.

    I tried to reinstate the menu, and the structure looks great again, but no matter how often I update the menu, the tabs do not reappear. What am I doing wrong?

    It’s been a few days since you’ve replied to us. When I hover over the menu items on the site’s homepage, submenu items appear for me. The text of the submenu item is white with an orange background.

    It seems you may have resolved the issue? If not, let us know so we can take a closer look.
