The Ten Post Limit

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi all.

Is there any way of increasing the post limit in the sidebar? The most i can have it ten and ideally I’d like that to be a scrolling bar so visitors can see the one they want easily.

    Thanks
    Anna

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

You can increase the post in your sidebar by going to My Sites > Design > Customize > Widgets > Sidebar > Recent Posts

From there you can change “Number of posts to show” to something that works for you.

I couldn’t find an option to make give the sidebar a scroll bar. It might be possible with a different theme or possibly custom CSS

  • Hi there,

The Author widget you have there cannot show more than 10 posts, no. It’s only intended to show a limited number of the most recent posts by a particular author on your site, not to be a complete index of all posts on the site or by a particular author.

CSS can only change how elements on a site appear. It cannot change how the software itself works. How widgets work is also part of the software, and changing themes will have no effect on the functioning of any widgets in any way. At most changing a theme will change how a widget is styled, i.e. what fonts and colours it uses.

I’ve managed to get around it by just posting the links to each blog on the front page, inelegant but it works.

My thanks to the commenters on this post.
