The theme 'Panel' isnt showing Comics in the dashboard

I just installed the theme named ‘Panel’ to use for my webcomic blog. According to its WP page (https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/panel/), there should be an option called ‘Comics’ listed in the dashboard under ‘Posts’. There should also be an option in the Posts bulk action dropdown for ‘Convert to comic’. But neither the Comics option nor the Convert to Comic bulk action are showing in my WP dashboard. I have tried restarting the browser (Firefox), tried another browser (Safari), and manually installing the theme using the ‘Upload theme’ option. But the Comic options still do not show in the dashboard.
My website is billywitt.com. Its not the billywitt.wordpress.com URL listed below. I’m self publishing my website instead of using the wordpress.com website. Could that be the cause?

I am unsure how to fix this try resetting the theme, or there may be a glitch. Sounds weird. I tagged so staff will check it out

You’ll need to activate Jetpack’s Custom Content Types module to get access to the comics custom post type on a self-hosted WordPress site.

That worked! I had already installed Jetpack but neglected to activate it. Newbie learning curve here. I’ll be sure to post in the WordPress.org page from now on. Thanks so much for your help!
