The theme works different depending on the hosting /HELP)

    I have developed a very simple page in public wordpress (wordpress.com) and using the Theme ‘Goran’ (also, a simple one). I have just hired a paid wordpress hosting and I am trying to migrate the page. I am using exactly the same Theme (Goran) and the latest version available of wordpress and the theme.

    And in spite of all that, I have found that the theme works differently (even the menus and options are differente) and with less functionalities in the hosted one. For example:

    * In the public domain, I can include a Logo for my company, but not in the hosted one
    * In the public domain I can select a colour pallette but not in the hosted one
    * In the public domain I have much more widgets than in the hosted one (for example, a ‘links’ widget and a ‘Twitter timeline’ widget).

    In the hosted version I am using:
    * WordPress: 4.9.6
    * Goran Theme (v 1.2.5)

    In the public domain I have no information about versions.

    Someone knows what its happening? Why the same Theme works different and more poorly in a paid hosting than in the free one?

    Hello there, some of the features you mention are part of the Jetpack plugin that is integrated on all WordPress.com sites. In order to get the same functionality, you’d need to install that plugin on your self hosted site.

    Also, themes used here on WordPress.com are customized to work with our platform so the same theme may not have the same features in the self-hosted version. I do not know specifics regarding the Goran theme.

    In general for assistance with your self-hosted site, you’ll want to post at the support forums at https://wordpress.org/support If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on that page. I also suggest searching the forums there for a similar issue before posting.

    Thank you very much. I have installed the Jetpack plugin and part of the problems (not all, unfortunately) have been solved.

    I’ll ask for help about the other topics in the wordpress.org forums as you suggest.
