The visual editor doesn't allow 'space' when hitting the space bar
-
On a Web browser like Safari, I tried to enter some text, but turned out that the current WordPress visual editor has a bug which prevents ‘spaces’ typed.
It used to happen only with WordPress mobile apps or even on desktop with Firefox branches. However, today I saw it happened with Safari. It’s persistent.
Please see my video.

If you want to learn how to format and space your posts and pages in a wordpress.COM blog see: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/ Specifically see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/#extra-line-breaks
You can also use the pre tag. See here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/can-i-get-rid-of-double-word-spacing?replies=21#post-2512371
If you use the classic editor here Dashboard > Posts > Add New to create your posts what I provide below may be helpful.
In the classic editor, if you are working in the Visual editor, to get single spacing between paragraphs hold the SHIFT key down and simultaneously click ENTER at the end of the paragraph. If you are working in the Text or HTML editor, a single click of ENTER will give you a single-spaced line, and two clicks of ENTER will result in double spaced lines.
Whether or not you are copying and pasting go to > Dashboard > Settings > Writing and enable this setting:
Formatting
__ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
“save changes”IMPORTANT NOTE: When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

Hi Jongampark,
Thanks for the screencast! That makes it very clear. I tried using the Visual Editor in Safari and am not able to reproduce the issue; the spaces work for me.
Can you make sure you’re using the latest version of Safari:
Also try clearing the cookies and cache if you haven’t already. If the problem persists after that then check whether you’ve got any browser extensions or addons which might be interfering. Also make sure Javascript is enabled in your browser. Let me know how you go.

Hmm… you guys created another thread? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpress-desktop-app-doesnt-handle-code-lang-tag-well?replies=4#post-2649351
I added my comment there.
but..
@rachelsquirrel
I use the latest Safari. It’s even newer than the one shown on the browse happy.com. Mine is 9.1.1 but the one listed on the site is 9.1.Clearing cookies looked to solve it, but please read my comment on the other thread you guys created.
Thank you.

Ah.. this is different one than the one I reported yesterday, which is https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpress-desktop-app-doesnt-handle-code-lang-tag-well?replies=3#post-2649199
You guys confused me by commenting on those two things at the same time!
This issue ( which I started on this page) is different one. This issue is with the Web browser and visual editor on it, while the other one pointed by the URL above is how the one wrote with Mac desktop WordPress app is wrongly changed when opened on a web browser!
It’s different! -
Clearing cookies looked to solve it …
Did clearing cookies solve the issue with spacing in the Visual editor?
-
Yes, it did. But anyway, it’s a bug. The visual editor must depends on some weird cookie values or something.
