The Visual Mode Font Is Small And The Same Font Across Several Themes?
-
Hello,
I started to notice that the font & font size in Visual Mode when you are making/editing a Post, is now a small sized font, and it is the same font (Times New Roman?) used across the last few themes that I have tried when in Visual Mode; in the past usually the Visual Mode font & font size matched the theme’s default font & font size, but now some themes seem to be sharing this same small font that is harder to read for people with bad eyes like myself even when those themes default font & font size is bigger and/or better.
Is this new/was this changed or is this just happening to me or is there a setting to change this?
I rather have the theme’s default font and font size show in Visual Mode or the new default WordPress.com font (Open Sans?) with a large enough font size for the average person (including people with bad eyes ;) ).
Here is a screenshot of Visual Mode in the Ryu Theme (which has a nice large font, but in Visual Mode it has a small harder to read font :( ):

Please check your browser ZOOM setting. It sounds like you zoomed out.
I’m visually challenged and what you show there is not small at all. It’s normal sized font.
As for the Ryu Theme it has poster sized fonts which why I’ll never use that theme.
Are you aware that we can increase and decrease font size on any site on the ineternet that we visit in seconds flat?

Nope: the Visual editor usually displays the same font no matter what the theme. You’ve probably been spoiled by using one of the rare exceptions (Twenty Eleven, perhaps?).

I did use the Twenty Eleven theme a lot in the past, of course I have tried other themes as well, so you might be correct Justpi. ;)
I checked my zoom setting Thistimethisspace and made sure that it was on default & it was, but thank you for the information on adjusting the zoom (which I knew about, but I never use); but I might start using it for when I am editing/typing posts. ;)
Do either of you know why the WordPress.com Team is using that font & font size, is there anyway for us to recommend that they just use their default Open Sans font in a better font size instead?
Thank you,

I can agree that Ryu Theme’s font size for post titles is too big, the body text font size does not bother me, but the small tagline font in italics does bother me; and it is a bit odd that the is blog title font is so huge compared to everything else, a bit more balance would be nice and I think that links/click-able text should stand out more and/or be a different color and/or have a thicker/darker underline. ;)

Twenty Eleven is not the only theme like that, Twenty Twelve is another one, and there are more; but I would have to activate each theme again to look, but I know that I have come across more & so that is why this caught me by surprise. ;)

The screenshot made the text look bigger than it really is in my opinion Thistimethisspace. ;)

Hi there,
I have added your suggestion that the Open Sans font with a larger default font (or a larger font option) be enabled for our Visual Editor.
I hope you have a great week!
