Hi there. I have signed on with a new company and they have thrown this into my lap with no previous knowledge. Their website has not been maintained and they can’t figure out why it is down. When I try to access the admin page I get ‘HTTP ERROR 500’. When trying to access the site I get ‘DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN’. I am wondering if this is an issue in billing, if the account is not up to date. The email/username (which I cannot seem to find) should be under ‘(email visible only to moderators and staff)’. I hope I can get some assistance in getting them back up and running! Thanks.

You can check for yourself what happened to that domain at https://completedns.com/dns-history/. Post again in this thread if that domain was hosted by Automattic.

The website was hacked and shut down through my new employers wordpress account. They deleted the site and there was no backups. Any clever ways of getting the content back? Otherwise, I will be building a new site from scratch (not the end of the world it needed updating anyways). Thanks yall!

You can always check the Wayback machine. That’s pretty hit and miss but it’s worth investigating.
