The wrong homepage shows on the live link
-
I have spent hours trying to get the “Hello World” homepage off of my website and trying to get my actual homepage to show up. I have googled, YouTube’d, and looked at the forums and nothing has helped. I have done everything from deleting the “Hello World” blog. I have changed my “Static Page”, I have changed my homepage in the “Customized” page to “Homepage Settings” to change my page to the correct page.
When I go the the pages on the backend, the “Hello Word” page doesn’t even show up. Again, I have deleted the blog, gone to “Settings” and to “Reading” to make my page show up.
When you click the “Hello World!” link on the website, it’ll take you to some of the pages of my website, but when you click my logo, it takes you back to the Hello World page.
I just started the site today. I added the Elementor pluggin and I’m using a template from the pluggin Starter Template. The template has been super easy to edit and I’m not having any issues with that. But I wanted to see what it looked like on my phone and I have spent half of the night trying to get rid of that hideous green “Hello World” Page from my website.
On the backend in the editing. Everything looks great and in the pages, when I click on each one, they show the pages correctly.
PLEASE HELP!

Hi,
I have spent hours trying to get the “Hello World” homepage off of my website and trying to get my actual homepage to show up.
The “Hello World” link to that deleted post appears to be content, probably a Blog Posts Block in your static homepage. So you may get remove that by deleting that block in the editor of the page assigned as your homepage. Then you may add whatever content you wish to be displayed there instead.
When I go the the pages on the backend, the “Hello Word” page doesn’t even show up.
That’s because it isn’t a page, it is content within the page assigned as the homepage, evidently using an Elementor template.
I’m going to call for staff attention to the topic, because I’ve no experience with the Elementor plug-in, and I might have missed something important in analyzing the issue. Staff will respond here.
Note also that if you have the Premium Plan or higher, then you have access to Live Chat Support, which you may find more expeditious and convenient than using the community support forums.

Hi there!
Please note that your site at happyoccasionsbyabe.com is using the WordPress.org software and is hosted by Siteground. We aren’t able to provide direct support for sites using WordPress.org as this forum is for WordPress.com sites. If you aren’t sure about the differences, please check out this page: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.
We are happy to point you in the right direction, but note that because your site is hosted elsewhere, we don’t have the same level of capability to offer help as we do for sites hosted by us.
I visited your site and I feel that there are some caching issues going on here. Because when I land on the homepage of your site, I see the default theme, but clicking the post title “Hello World” takes me to a completely different theme (Astra) with a different design and layout. Do you have any caching plugins installed on your site? If yes, can you purge the cache and try deactivating that plugin to see if that helps?
I’d also suggest contacting Siteground support. As your site is hosted by them, they can look for other caching issues on their end.
Finally, if you are unable to solve it after clearing the cache or deactivating any caching plugins, please post on the WordPress.org support forum here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums
Regards
