The wrong image is publishing to my facebook page when I auto publish.

The images I inserted into my blog posts are not publishing to Facebook. Instead the image on the bottom of my blog page is being inserted. This is mainly an issue with the automatic publishing to my Facebook page and it was not happening for the first year. This is frustrating since I pick a specific image for each post and now my facebook page is only full of the same picture with every post.

It sounds as if there might be an issue with the image that Facebook is “choosing” to publish. We don’t have a great deal of control over this, as it’s Facebook’s system that plucks the thumbnail from your post.
However, there are some actions you can take to assure your best chance of having your chosen image published on Facebook.
First, read the tips here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicizeAlso, you may want to run your site through the Facebook debug page. One of the things this action does is clear your cache for the page. Facebook caches (or saves) content from your previous posts. Sometimes this is the image that will be published, rather than your preferred images.

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debugFinally, opting for a theme that allows for Featured Images is your best bet when it comes to having your photo of choice published to Facebook. Your theme, Rounded, is retired and may not support the functions you’d like. I’ve done a search of themes that may suit your needs:

I took your advice but now things are worse. Before at least the things I published manually gave me the option of putting in the image I had in the post. Now, it doesn’t give that option. It lets me either select the general picture from my blog page or the wordpress symbol. Now this problem is happening in Pinterest as well so not just Facebook. I’m getting frustrated since I pay for this blog and it is having more and more problems. Again this is for reenasramble.com

You can upload images to your Media Library and I can take a look.
Also, you appear to be auto-posting via Publicize for Facebook, is this correct? Could you please confirm that you are sharing to Pinterest via the sharing buttons on each individual post? When I click the Pinterest share button underneath your posts, I am given the correct image options.

I am using the share button under each post to pin to pinterest. That gave me the picture options until my latest 'trick or treating' post. As for the auto publish to Facebook, etc or even through the share buttons to Facebook it is picking other pics of the front page of my blog. I had a picture of a crystal ball on the bottom of my front page which I took away in hopes that would help but now it picks either my gravatar or the picture in the header. I also changed the theme as you suggested and tried to use feature image.

Ok so i had trouble with the screen shot so I hope the link to the facebook page is ok. The Flash TV series blog post has the crystal ball that I had on my front page. I removed it for now.

Hi. I also wanted to send the link to my latest post which doesn't give me the right image option when I try to hit the share button on the bottom of the post for Pinterest. It only gives me my gravatar picture which is just my face and that's it.

We are looking further into the issue you’re having with Pinterest.
In the meantime, I can help with the Facebook issue. Your images are not optimized in order to be “grabbed” by Facebook. I took a look at the images in this post:
The image you want to have published is smaller than the image that was published. This link will help:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/Also, once you’ve published a post to Facebook, if you adjust the post and resave, the images/text will not be updated on your wall. Just an FYI.
Please give the larger images a try, and follow the steps in the document I linked. Let’s see if that alleviates the issue.

Reena, I’ve tested your Halloween image on Pinterest.
This is also a size issue. Can you upload much larger images? And images that will work well in the layout of a Pinterest pin?
You can still display just the thumbnail on your page, if you like, but the actual image resolution/dimensions must be larger.
