If I type in the name of my organisation into Google. Opposed to a link for my website homepage appearing on the search index, a link for my website ‘About us’ page appears instead. This means when you click on the link you are redirected to a page which isn’t the home page. how do I fix this?

Hi oumansoc16,
Is this in regards to oumansoc.wordpress.com and if so, is the organization in question, Oxford University Management Society?
If I type Oxford University Management Society into Google, these are the first four results that I get.

https://www.oxfordsu.org/organisation/9499/

As well, you might be interested in the documentation on search engines and WordPress here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
In particular,
Why does Google return a certain result for my blog/post?
Google decides how to rank and list blogs and websites. We don’t have any control over the search results or any special knowledge about how they are selected. Each search engine has their own algorithm that only they control. Was this helpful? Please post if you need more information.
