Hi there,
Is http://anadmirer57.wordpress.com. the site you need help with?
If it isn’t, can you post a link to your site?
-
Hello, Gary68
yes, thanks.
That is the site I am looking for help with. It is the “free” (no cost) level, and I am wondering if that is why I do not see “remote publishing” anywhere in the settings>writing part of what I think is the admin panel.I am trying to use the “verified services” feature that links a wordpress.com blog to Gravatar and i get the message given in the subject line.
Thanks -
XML-RPC is already enabled by default here at WordPress.com.
Make sure that you have the correct XML-RPC URL:
See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/ -
Also note that a WordPress.com account and a gravatar account are one in the same thing. If you still need help type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi there,
I am trying to use the “verified services” feature that links a wordpress.com blog to Gravatar
Your WordPress.com and Gravatar accounts are linked automatically. Are you trying to add verified services here?:
https://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit#your-links
When you visit that link, you should see two options:
https://cloudup.com/clFTGNxcdPq
I looked at the example in your post and https://anadmirer57.wordpress.com/xlmrpc.php isn’t a valid URL. If you are logged into this account, the site should appear in the list when you click ‘Add WordPress.com Site’.
I do not see “remote publishing” anywhere in the settings>writing
We support posting by email, is that what you are looking for?
Post by email can be set up in your Writing settings.

Thank you @gemmaceveans. After reading more about my question – thanks to the links you provided – I think I understand the issue. It seems that wordpress.org is the “wordpress” given in the Gravatar link list. I hadn’t been aware there was a difference. Ha!
Thanks as well to @garysixtyeight and @timethief.
With your help it is clearer to me how the system works between the groups Gravatar invites users to connect. Is there a way to give credit on WordPress.com? (Obviously, I am new here ;)

Yes, there are versions of WordPress, WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
The ‘add a website’ option is where you would add a WordPress.org site.
Is there a way to give credit on WordPress.com? (Obviously, I am new here ;)
What sort of credit do you mean?
I’m glad you’re all sorted now. If you need any more help though, you know where we are :)

What sort of credit do you mean?
oh, I just meant like a “thumbs-up” kinda thing, or a star — like they have on Apple help forums.
Thanks! -
Oh I see what you mean! There isn’t a feature for giving credit to forum users but if timethief and garysixtyeight are subscribed to this thread, they should see your thanks :)
