  How can I go back to the original theme for my blog?

  You go to the dashboard Themes page, you select the theme, you hit Activate.

  I know how to select a theme and activate it. I did that, and I do not like it at all; it was way different than what it advertised!

  What I want to know is how do I revert to the original generic WordPress theme?

  Please let me know.

  I know how to select a theme and activate it.

  Look for Twenty Fifteen and activate it, or click on the following link and click the activate button if it’s the theme you want: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfifteen/.
