    hey! I’m new to wordpress and I chose a theme I really like. It also happens to say WELCOME TO WORDPRESS.COM and use this area to help readers navigate through. I can’t figure out how to stop that from covering up my really pretty header. thanks!

    Hi,

    “Welcome to the WordPress.com” is what this theme refers to as your Hero title, and “Use this template to give your readers a bit of important information” is what they call the Hero content. These are special features of the Gateway theme, and may be edited or deleted at Customize > Theme Options > Homepage Template. Note, however, that removing these element will result in the a decrease in the height of the portion of the featured image displayed.
