theme

Hi, I’m really stumped… all I want to do is alter the theme of the site and I’ve seen some that are nice, and in the package I download the readme will always say to navigate to ‘themes’ and ‘add new’. I can not see this. If I need to pay, then I will. How do I get over this quite ridiculously simple hurdle??? I’ve looked and asked around but nothing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
To browse through available themes, click on this link https://theme.wordpress.com
You have the option to demo, or activate the theme on your site.
You aren’t able to upload custom themes on WordPress.com. If you were to switch to the self hosted version, which is WordPress.org, you would have that ability.
You can read about the difference between the two here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Hope that helps.

thedamianb.wordpress.com leads to “Not Found”.
There are lots of free themes (and lots you have to pay for) at https://wordpress.com/design/thedamianb.wordpress.com
When you see a theme you like, you can preview (test drive) it with your EXISTING wp site, including tinkering with things like header image, menus, widgets.
-under the theme preview, select the three dots, and then select ‘Try & Customize’: your website shows up in the new theme, and you can navigate to your different pages/links to see what it looks like in that theme. If you are sure you want to switch, hit the [Save & Activate] button; if you do NOT want to activate the new theme, just close the tab. -
Thanks very much. I realise that for what I need, there can be no footer info, so I assume it has to be done on a business plan. Would that be right? It’s fullscreen video. In old days would have just done it in something like Dreamweaver (no longer have) following such guidelines as below
