Theme advice?

Hello! I wondered if I could use a WordPress theme or if someone had advice regarding my vision. I am looking to start up a website based on athletics. It is a ranking system I will create. The idea is to bring more exposure to the athlete. The long term is goal is that athletes and organizations will respect my rankings formula and use the ranking as a bench mark for success. The website will consist of 5 categories summarizing the different rankings within the website:
1) A Rankings page – This page will summarize the top athletes of each sport. Clicking on the athlete brings you to their athletes page.
2) Athletes page – This will be a page dedicated to the individual athlete. It will provide space for a profile photo, their ranking, country of origin, wins/losses, social media links. Their will be thousands of individual athlete pages.
3) Countries page – This page will have a home page summarizing the ranking of the countries based on the athletes performances. There will be a sub page for each country ranked and then more information within each Country page.
4) Teams page – There will be a team page showing the team rankings with sub pages to each Team where more information will be included.
5) Events page – This page will have upcoming sporting events as well as past ones with results.
Within the multiple pages there will be links inserted that will navigate people all over the site to find the information they are looking for.
I hope this makes sense and someone can point me where I need to look for development of my idea.

Are you looking to automate this formula in anyway? Do you have an example of a similar system available?

It’s possible to do this, and you’d need to use a custom post type for this, which can be powered by a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/custom%20post%20type/
Depending on number 1 – you could look to automate the the rankings system so that it ties into the post type.
3) Countries page – This page will have a home page summarizing the ranking of the countries based on the athletes performances. There will be a sub page for each country ranked and then more information within each Country page. 4) Teams page – There will be a team page showing the team rankings with sub pages to each Team where more information will be included.
As above, this would be part of a custom post type, and again, could be automated to feed into one place into another.
5) Events page – This page will have upcoming sporting events as well as past ones with results.
